The economy of the Western Cape is dominated by the Capital city of Cape  Town.

The Western Cape’s unmatched natural beauty, famous hospitality, cultural diversity, excellent wine and rich cuisine make it one of the world’s greatest tourist attractions.

The largest contributing sectors to the region’s economy include the financial and business services sector as well as manufacturing. Foreign Trade accounts for almost 30% of the GRP with agricultural products and wine dominating exports.

High-tech industries, international call centers, fashion design, advertising and TV production are niche industries rapidly gaining in importance.
